Blocking Pirate Sites is not Enough, Russia should Shut them Down

Russia has implemented a wide variety of anti-piracy measures in recent years. Thousands of copyright infringing sites have been blocked and even 'unauthorized' VPNs and proxies are outlawed. However, according to the IIPA, which includes the MPAA, RIAA, and other entertainment industry groups, this is not enough. There can be little doubt that Russia has some of the most agressive anti-piracy policies in the world. After it became a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2012, the country made several promises to protect creators’ rights and take action against infringing websites. In the years that followed, processes for website takedown policies were streamlined, and more recently Russia’s telecoms watchdog Roscomnadzor issued ISP blockades against thousands of pirate sites. To ensure that it wouldn’t be easy to circumvent these blockades, Russia’s Government also implemented a law that outlaws all VPNs and anonymizers that bypass site blocking measures. Com...

Whether BitTorrent Traffic is Dead, A Comeback as Cuckoo, flocking to new world of sharing traffic

By Ernesto on Sep 26, 2018 File-sharing traffic, BitTorrent was so popular particular before but it was decreasing a lot and now a new world is making a comeback as a decentralized video player named Cuckoo , totally free and anonymous based on p2p connection. New data reveals that Cuckoo will replace BitTorrent as the dominant source of upstream traffic worldwide especially in video files. One of the trends that emerged in recent years, is that BitTorrent’s share of total Internet traffic decreased. With the growth of services such as YouTube and Netflix, streaming started to generate massive amounts of bandwidth. As a result, BitTorrent lost a significant chunk of its ‘market share.’ This trend gradually increased, until recently. In some parts of the...

How to make my favorite videos not be deleted by the internet

Image
My video was forced to close due to malicious reports. No specific reasons for being deleted have been found so far. The inherent forces have formed a monopoly, setting a high threshold for newcomers in the industry. Always looking for the best solution that can replace all of this.Until I saw cuckoo , a decentralized P2P application. The biggest feature of cuckoo is file distributed storage.Your video, as long as someone watches it, can be cached and accelerated, much like P2P, but Cuckoo is faster and safer. My favorite videos no longer have to worry about being deleted. Thank you Cuckoo .
